Burner control unit
The BCU 370 burner control unit controls, ignites and monitorsindustrial forced draught burners of unlimited capacity inintermittent or continuous operation. It can be used for directlyignited forced draught burners or forced draught burnersignited with pilot burner. The BCU 370 activates the fan andsets the connected butterfly valve to Pre-purge and Ignitionposition. After pre-purge and burner start, the enable signal isissued to an external controller which positions the butterflyvalve in accordance with the capacity demand. Postpurgeoccurs after the end of burner operation. The burner controlunit BCU 370 monitors the gas and air pressure. An optionallyintegrated tightness control function checks the valves with anexternal gas pressure switch. Programmability by means of theoptical interface and BCSoft PC software guarantees optimumadaptation to the relevant application. Adjustable start-upattempts and automatic restart which can be activated ensurethe high flexibility of the burner equipment. The quick-startoption allows standard-compliant startup of the forced draughtburner without pre-purge after controlled shut-down. Thisavoids unnecessary admission of air into the combustionchamber. The heat output is available as quickly as possibleafter a temperature demand. The program status, the unitparameters and the level of the flame signal can be readdirectly from the BCU. An integrated Manual mode allowsmanual start of the burner and setting of the butterfly valveposition independently of the central control system. TheBCSoft operator-control and setting software provides apowerful tool for commissioning and servicing. To reduce theinstallation and wiring costs, Honeywell Kromschröder offers anoptional Profibus DP interface to transfer the activation signalsand feedbacks.
