By using the VAR, inadmissibly highpressures in vessels can be prevented. Compressors and fansgenerate different outlet pressures in the case of differentcapacity demands. These fluctuations can be controlled bydischarging a bypass flow from the outlet to the inlet of thecompressor unit. Downstream consumers thus dispose ofconstant pressure over the entire capacity range.
